The phase and age

The phase and age

I read that this has no effect on the experience of consciousness in dreams.

Nevertheless I can’t let go of the idea that age does matter.
I notice that a lot of people who practice the phase are young. With young I mean under 40.
I believe that the ability for phase entrance is a lot higher when one is an adolescent, around 18 years old and even younger and that chances diminish when one grows older.

Some people who are very talented would naturally disagree with me but in general in think this is the case.
I read that also reports of Near death experiences decreasing with age.

Hope I get some documented answers that will reject my notion

From the age of 5-16 I had multiple lucid nightmares every night! Basically a black cat (I named it the wildcat) would find me and attack me in every nightmare. I always knew I was dreaming once I saw the cat so it became the perfect lucidity trigger. There were only two ways I could ever wake up from these nightmares:

1. Be ripped to pieces/eaten by the wildcat. This was extremely painful though and is what I avoided.

2. Jump off my balcony. Usually I would wake up before I landed on the ground (there was a certain speed i needed to reach)however sometimes I got caught on the trees and would have to quickly climb back up and try again. Whenever I got that feeling of falling so fast that I was unable to breath I would always crash land into my bed awakening fully conscious.

The nightmares finally stopped once I moved to a different apartment at the age of 16. When I was 17 I began a goal to write a book for every year of my life in which I would research the phase. I never got nightly phases though which is quite disappointing :( if only I knew that astral projection and lucid dreaming were the same things back when I first became interested in astral projection at the age of 15.. boy I had it all back then...

Anyway hopefully with practice lucidity does become easier to obtain even if you are growing older...

I'm 42 and I had 6 OBEs the other night  ;D...most were vivid and stable.I have an average of 3-4/week.When I don't phase,I either can't remember much or I have very long and absolutely epic dreams.I am often able to think clearly in these regular dreams, but I do get caught up in the senarios with their so called 'faulty logic' and 'false memories'.

I don't think I'm talented,just dedicated! I love the phase!

Don't worry about it.  You're catching up now and with more knowledge you can reach new heights.  Thank God for Michael Raduga.  We definitely needed someone like him.

Yea I play to be the next most famous phaser...

Philip Adams, a book for every ear of his life, a fully logged journey from day one.

I can't wait... Hopefully in the future better techniques will exist :)

I'm 59 and have enjoyed good success with Michael's methods as well.  In fact, I often have spontaneous OBE's now.  In the past week, I visited Sherlock Holmes in London and visited the Last Supper.

The problems I have relate more to coming up with action plans that are sufficiently stimulating and interesting and taking more control over the phase process.  It's really been a learning experience though.
