Deferred method: How do you get multiple awakenings?

When I wake up after 6 hours of sleep and then go back to sleep using the deferred method, I will sleep for another 2 hours or so and then wake up fully rested. I can try to separate here but it seems pointless to do the deferred method with only one awakening.

How do you spontaneously wake up several times without an alarm clock? I am a sound sleeper, I think. What's the mechanism that's supposed to wake you up throughout the morning?

Trying to separate after 6 hours of sleep is a very good time for me to get an OBE.

If I fall asleep and wake up 8 hours later -- if I have another hour... just laying still and FFA for another hour, I will get several more wake-up opportunities because my body has had plenty of rest and is ready to get up, but it will accept a few more short little naps.

Though, it can be hard to come by this sort of "sleep" time. Just weekends maybe, and family agrees to leave you alone to "sleep-in".

(edit; I changed 2 to 8 hours... I don't know it came out like that the first time)

Intention!  ;D Have you ever set the alarm for an important day that you really CAN'T be late for? You are anxious you will sleep in therefore wake up 5-10mins earlier than the alarm? Tell yourself you WILL have multiple awakenings and you will. It might take some time but it might be instant for you. Eventually it will happen.

I have dropped off in attempts lately but when I have the intention I almost ALWAYS can get the phase. It's just a matter of keeping it for me.

I use the deferred method a lot.
When I go back a sleep I have the strong intention to notice my awakenings.
Mostly it goes like this:
Stay up for 45 min
Back to sleep
Short awakening with the memory of a dream. Here I have my first attempt but if there is nothing to react on I fall back a sleep.
Short awakening again with dream memory- atempt…and so on…
Usually I don’t succeed with first awakening but in second or third

Of course you ask how to capture these short awakenings and take advantage of them.
Before practicing the phase I didn’t noticed them either but now I do.
I’m now more focused on it.
Don’t’ use alarm!

Of course;  sometimes I sleep true them without conscious  awakenings

This is why it is important to only try the deferred method 3 times a week.  Otherwise it is very difficult to form the proper intention to wake up.

That night I had lik 6 awakenings throughout the night. So I guess I not knowingly I did the differed method before really going to sleep. U cld try that ;D

1. Prolong period of awareness before falling asleep again (upto 1 hour). Or prolong duration of first cycle sleep. Or both

2. More intention before falling asleep

3. More motivation. Create a very interesting plan of action and think about it before falling asleep
