finding threshold

I have read only indirect technic in detail and tried several days.
I found problem that if I concentrate on attempt(4 cycles etc), I can complete
4 cycles but not only phase is failed, but also sleepiness is totaly gone so I can't fall asleep again.
But if I give a little focus on attempt, I just fall asleep before completing 4 cycles.
So I need to find the threshold that I can attempts 4 cycle without falling asleep but not too awaken. It's hard to find yet I am just trying and trying till it works.

Are you attempting separation as the first thing that you do upon awakening (and before cycling through the techniques)?
Make sure you reinforce the intention of returning to wakefulness if you lose it. Remember that 5 seconds can seem longer than what you may think when you're in a relaxed state. Look at a clock right now and watch a minute go by and see yourself performing the cycles and you will see what I mean.
Don't try too hard and don't despair. Have a relaxed approach and when you do it you may be surprised to find that it is easier than what you might think. If you notice anything peculiar with any of the techniques, stick to it and amplify the sensation. Soon you will get more than what you bargain for as you discover the threshold that will enable you to separate from the body.

Thanks for the answer.
I'm trying seperation technique first if I wake without moving, and am trying cycle technique first if I wake with movement, like SOBT book explaind.
But the problem I wrote here is only happened(if my memories are right) when I fall into sleep paralyse accidentally especially when I'm tired and it disrupt me to go to OBE or LD as I already know that sleep paralyse is a chance to have LD.
It was not happened yet with intentional attempt to go to phase(also didn't success).
I hope the methods of the book solves the problem

I hope so. Check out the "Algorithm Upon Awakening" diagram on the new SOBT. You can't go wrong with that.
By the way, sometimes when I'm in sleep paralysis I get a pulsatile hiss in my head. By straining the brain I can usually induce vibrations. Sometimes I manipulate waves up and down my body with my mind and the process revs up like an engine. When the vibes peak, I separate.
