21/06/2011:
This experienced started off in a dream about me visiting my mother in East London and staying the night. She prepared the little bedroom for me which overlooks Canary Wharf. I falsely awoke in that room, unaware that I was dreaming, of course, and decided not to move in order to induce an OOBE from the hypnopompic state. One might say that I dreamed up the vibrations that ensued and the separation, which, by the way, were no different to that experienced at the start of a wake-induced Phase entry.
Once I was out, I knew I was in the Phase - as I noticed that the vivid room interior wavered briefly - and yet, I still believed that I had really gone to my mother’s for a sleepover. I glided through the window to the outside to find a substantial city under a captivating sky. The more I explored the city, as I flew over it, the less it looked like Canary Wharf. It didn’t take long for me to realise that I was really asleep at my house and that I had become lucid in a dream by deciding to enter the Phase. This discovery seemed to have reinforced sustenance of the Phase state.
Soon, I set out to visit Stacey’s deceased grandmother Marge by propelling myself in a particular direction with the thought of her firmly in mind. I felt a curious force taking me somewhere, guiding me through the city as it verged on dusk, and making me perform unconventional manoeuvres such as shifting sideways at which point I beheld different roads in a row like a slide-show. Eventually, I came across a fenced in Tottenham Court Road station next to a sign with the name “Coppleâ€

26/06/2011:
Me and family went to my in-laws’ on the previous day for a sleepover. Stacey and my youngest son slept in the spare room on the upper floor of the house, and my other two kids were on the floor in their grandparents’ bedroom. Initially I was supposed to sleep with my partner and youngest son, but I couldn’t get comfortable so I opted for the sofa in the living-room downstairs. I fell asleep around 1.30 am and woke up at 5.30 am to use the toilet. A few minutes later, I went back to the sofa with the intention of entering the Phase. The hypnagogic state was marked by glimpses of unhuman faces engaged in virtual surroundings. Soon, I was completely paralysed and a mild pressure in the chest area was felt. Hissing and rushing noises ensued before I turned to my left side and floated out of my immobile body.
I had tunnel vision that can be best described like seeing through binoculars in reverse, where the rim was silvery and kaleidoscopic. As I motioned through the air, I turned to see my body on the sofa. It wore the same pyjamas and looked like me peacefully asleep. I tried to touch it, but, despite feeling a hand go right through, none was seen. This made me realise that I appeared to have an invisible body at that stage. I looked around and noticed that the house interior - despite being devoid of colour - appeared accurate (as far as I could tell). I drifted upwards, going through the ceiling, in order to explore what was on the upper floor. A flurry of black and grey patches invaded my field of vision until black was all I could see. I stopped in my tracks and demanded light, but to no avail.
I felt stuck for a brief moment before it crossed my mind that I could be having what Monroe once termed a Locale I projection - where conscious awareness theoretically separates from the body and is free to explore the physical realm or a level of reality closely associated with it - and that I might be embedded in some wall or enclosed in a large physical structure. I shifted upwards a little more and got a close-up of my youngest son’s face. His eyes were open but he didn’t look at me. As I floated away from the bed, I saw my partner, apparently asleep and cuddling the little boy. Apparently I had been seeing inside the mattress prior to my decision to move upwards. My tunnel vision was gone but the environment was still devoid of colour.
The manifest reality was eerily still and silent despite displaying no apparent anomalies in its structures. It gave me the impression that it wasn’t a proper reality, as the atmosphere conveyed the notion of a lifeless blueprint. I wanted to explore the surroundings further, but, the experience was cut short by an emerging darkness and the sensation of giant hands gripping my torso. I removed thick fingers from my ribs with ease before regaining physical awareness in the vibrational state. I heard voices and thought of them as being hypnopompic hallucinations. I let the vibrations dwindle until I could only perceive an internal pulsatile hiss and my head resting on the cushion.
I decided to make a swift attempt to re-enter the Phase getting up without straining the muscles. This led to a separation into a more colourful and brighter ambient setup. I heard people moving upstairs and I wondered if my family was getting ready to go out. I glanced at the sofa and realised that my body was missing. I wondered if I had just got out of bed instead of ‘out of body’ so I decided to test this by touching a black drawer unit nearby which, in actuality, holds my in-laws’ DVDs. It’s surface was firm, but, when I pushed my fingers through it, the solidity gave way. I could sink my whole hand into the unit as though its make had magically changed. This was all the confirmation I needed to reassure myself that I was in the Phase.
The front door was open and I walked out. I felt the brick wall of the house with my hand. It seemed to be made of stone at first, and then, I was tearing chunks away from it like it was gooey cake. The external world had a surreal quality to it. It looked like a playground painted by Salvador Dali. As I walked down the road, I witnessed more aspects of metaphysical reality or properties of a Locale II projection. The more I explored, the more my mind accepted the madness. A vagueness began to creep in as I was loosing lucidity. The experience was now a non-lucid dream where my friend Mark, who lives in Malaysia, had come to England for a visit. We went to a pub for a drink and we discussed what we were doing with our lives. Finally, we discussed politics before I woke up refreshed and remembering more of the Phase experience than the dream that it had turned into.

A good example of a direct entering the phase by the deffered method. And no difficult actions were done. Just intentions, image observation and right actions in the right moment when it happend(SP)
BTW, how important for your practice to be alone on a bed while practicing the phase (like in this case)?

Yes, I've found my comfort zone with the deferred method. I find myself using it all the time now because I feel that it's what works best for me at the moment. I have tried before sleep on a few occasions but successes haven't been as numerous as when using the pre-sleep method. Occasionally I try more challenging ways though, but, this time, I did what I usually do as it requires less effort and I've grown used to it.Michael Raduga wrote: A good example of a direct entering the phase by the deffered method. Being alone when I attempt to enter the Phase feels great to me. I find that I can relax quicker and there is less anxiety. When I first discovered the Phase phenomenon about three years ago, I used to make what I called an "OOBE bed" on the floor. Then, as I became more familiar with what worked for me and a little more adept at Phase entry, I decided to practice it next to my sleeping wife. I still had results but she has disturbed my Phase entries and experiences on a number of occasions.
You never know what you're going to get with her but in general she is a good sleeper (I have encouraged her to try the techniques too but she is scared of the Phase because it is stepping into the unknown). After this latest experience though, I'm considering using the sofa more often. Sometimes my partner prevents Phase re-entry too...grrr...

LOL! You know me well enough to know that I'm an OOBE-head, Ssergiu. Everything always has to be about OOBEs when we talk on Facebook or Yahoo chat!Ssergiu wrote: Woah mate!![]()

Anyway, yesterday just reminded me of how easily you can bring about these experiences. I am definitely feeling in the mood for further exploration and adventure.

This double entry probably wouldn't have happened if I was laying next to my wife.dreamsrock wrote: Nice double entry. Thanks for the post!

Funny, I've got an "obe bed" too! I mostly just use it when i do the vibrating timer method....I don't want her to feel it and think i'm a freak. If she was reading this, she'd say i was one already.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the Phase bed!

Its funny, everytime i try to enter the phaise when my girlfriend is sleeping with me i can't. I think she just has some kind of ESP because she knows the second i wake up and without fail says, honey, are you OK? This of course kills any attempts.

Re: Summerlander's Blog
LOL! My partner does that sometimes.
Here's the hooded figures experience that I said I would post in the other thread:
"Some time around 2008:
Here's an experience where two ghostly candle-lit figures zoomed past me and gave me goosebumps. Prior to this, I had separated into an anomalous replica of my house where the wall colours were different. Subsequently, the detailed surroundings were inexplicably replaced by a dark void, as though someone had turned the lights off, and I could see this eerie wind (faint luminous threads). Approaching from afar were veiled beings whose presence shocked me beyond belief.
Once these were out of sight I came face to face with a hooded figure. It seemed to be wearing a robe and at first the hood concealed its face. The being looked up and revealed two black holes instead of eyes and its moving mouth was abnormally wide. It whistled and screeched while extending long arms that revealed almost formless hands. A force attracted me to the hooded figure against my will. I was terrified. It waved a hand in front of my face and a black and white image materialised in front of me and all around me. I was now in a nursery which looked physically real.
I saw little children picking up books and toys and interacting with each other. I felt like a floating point of consciousness over their heads and nobody took any notice of me. There was an adult presence in the room, like a teacher, but I paid more attention to the little ones. I observed them and kept thinking along the lines of "look at them go!", "so sweet and innocent" "so curious about everything". Then I thought "What is the meaning of this?" and the hooded being’s head materialised in front of me. Then the rest of his body as the classroom environment faded away.
The being seemed to be making an attempt at communicating but I could only hear the whistling it made. I was still frightened so I told the being I wasn’t ready for such encounter yet and gained distance from the strange spectre before regaining physical awareness. I have wondered about a possible association between the hooded figure and the “Grim Reaper“, a mythical being very much associated with death or interpreted as being its personification."
Here's another:
03/07/2011:
During separation I acquired vision immediately and I saw my hand materialise instantly. I decided to explore the immediate environment.
The house did not display any anomalies and it was in HD, nothing was concealed in shadows whatsoever. My body felt physical in every respect. It even seemed to have weight. I looked down and saw my bare feet. I walked downstairs and was a bit hesitant about going through the front door like a ghost because the door looked so...solid!
I went through it with some friction and when I was done I felt the door latch onto me for a bit. The outside looked as it should too, but hyper-real in quality. I walked up to one of the neighbouring doors. It should have been number "1" but at first glance it was number "5". I looked at it again as I realised it wasn't right and it said "2". In the Phase state, I accepted it to be correct, but later in the waking state I was to realise that it should have been "1".
Del and his wife live at number 1 in actuality and this is something which my metaphysical experience got right. Once I went in the house (tried to go through the door but ended up pushing it open with my head) I discovered a staircase on my right side and front room door and a kitchen on the left. I went to the kitchen and discovered plates and glasses by the sink. I decided to smash them up for fun. Then I heard Del's wife come downstairs and saying "Del! Del! Wake up! Someone's in the house!"
She came in the kitchen but acted like she couldn't see me. She was looking at the damage instead which, I must say, was quite realistic! Then she went running up the stairs. I went after her and by this time I was gliding up (no longer felt the heavy body).
Once in the room I saw that she had been trying to get Del up but he was still asleep. She then turned to me as though she knew I was there and came on to me like a horny nymph and asked me to be careful not to wake her husband. I woke up. Ahem...I hope the real one didn't have wet dreams about me!
28/07/2011:
For some time now, I’ve been exercising before bedtime. This seems to have decreased my opportunities to enter the Phase using the deferred method (sleep first, induce an OOBE later). The reason why exercise before bedtime is not a good idea is that it gets the body’s adrenaline going despite making the muscles tired, and this can make it difficult for one to fall asleep. I’ve had trouble sleeping, and, when I finally manage to do so, it is very late and I don’t get up until the time when I’m supposed to get ready to deal with waking life affairs. It’s true that I can always enter the Phase in the morning, but this only happens when I can afford to do so. At the moment I feel a little bit out of touch with that world.
Due to the apparent failure being linked to exercising late, I decided to exercise around 5 pm of the previous day instead - plenty of time for my adrenaline levels to decrease before bedtime. This seems to have facilitated my plan to enter the Phase, because, despite having gone down at 1.45 am, I slept for three hours and went back to bed at 5.10 am to induce my experience. My stay in the Phase was short-lived but at least I succeeded in entering it this time.
I started by relaxing and it didn’t take long for me to experience a familiar shift in consciousness. No vibrations were perceived on this occasion. Instinctively, I rose from the bed and realised I was in the Phase as soon as I saw my hands gradually forming and becoming. Rubbing my hands together and feeling up the rest of the body was my anchorage. The tactile sensations I experienced, as I proceeded to touch nearby objects, seemed to have fortified the Phase. Vision had become pristine too. I remembered all my plans.
I was to go through the hallway mirror, in the belief that, on the other side, I would encounter Stacey in a different dream-world. I would then translocate to a wedding environment and dance with her. Despite my plans, I only got as far as going through the mirror to discover a house extension that doesn’t exist in the physical realm.
Finally, I glided through a window and found a scenery which was quite different from what should have been my back garden. I closed my eyes in order to translocate, but, after a second of darkness, I lost consciousness. I woke up at 10.45 am with no recollection of anything else but that brief experience.

Here's the hooded figures experience that I said I would post in the other thread:

Re: Summerlander's Blog
02/08/2011:
I went to bed at 12.30 am and fell asleep. I dreamt that I went to a rock club with my friend Stephen. It happened to be in a hall, and the majority of the people there were teenagers. A group of men started pushing everyone aggressively and I was forced into an underground car park. As I was being pushed around, I noticed that each assailant stood near pillars that supported the floor above. They surrounded me and escaping seemed impossible. A tall Jamaican man, who rapped constantly, seemed to be the leader and made sure that I did not escape. I felt desperate about the situation and thought that something needed to be done. I felt trapped in a living nightmare where men, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, were having fun by holding me captive. Somehow I managed to escape and the men chased me. I recognised the fact that I was running from something as a recurrent dream pattern and became lucid. Furthermore, the fact that I was gliding, rather than running, was a firm cue that I had entered the Phase via dream consciousness.
I flew from that underground space into the light of day of another metaphysical setting. I rubbed my realistic hands together, in order to deepen the state, before taking a good look at the surroundings. Outside, I encountered an urban landscape under a pale sky. There was a massive pillar supporting an external structure of the building I had left. I felt the pillar with my hands and scratched the surface as I noticed that my fingernails were dirty. The sensation of scratching the cold marble gave me goosebumps. I shifted over the city, like a balloon, and occasionally rubbed my hands when I thought vision was getting blurry. A highly defined hyper-reality appeared to settle.
Night fell and I landed on a snowy path. I had been exploring the place from many different angles, like changing the view several times in a video game, and felt the need for a set location lest I accidentally exit the Phase. Gliding through the streets at a reasonable pace revealed many marble statues and monuments. I felt the dark surface of a cubic slab which was the base of the statue of a feline creature. I continued to discover features of big cats everywhere in the architecture that surrounded me. The whole city displayed a red glow, which grew stronger the darker the sky got, and its spherical street lamps were the only objects emitting yellow light.
I stumbled upon an inhabitant who turned out to be my next door neighbour Helen on approach. We briefly talked about how unusual “the red cat cityâ€

Thanks, dreamsrock! Yes, I got married - it was great!
And at one point me and my daughter got together to look at some nice flowers in the pub garden where the reception took place. She told me she would eventually paint the flowers for me. What happened in the Phase kind of inspired me to bond with her more.
In a way, this Phase experience put me in the best mood possible for my wedding day. Why practice the Phase? - some people ask...well...here's another reason!
I guess my control was good this time but, if you look at my Phase experience prior to this one, you will see that it was a bit of a fiasco.
One thing I learned though...have confidence in that you will get the results you want from whatever deepening/maintaining techniques you use and don't panic about imminent fouls. Do your best to anchor yourself there, and, if you return to the body, just separate again.

Re: Summerlander's Blog
13/08/2011:
In the evening of the previous day, there was a family party for my sister-in-law Sharon, who had come down from Cornwall to attend mine and Stacey’s wedding, and is now about to leave. I drank a whole bottle of Rose table wine and felt tipsy. Back home, I made love to my wife, fell asleep and had a series of dreams. The latest two dreams were vivid and the most memorable.
In the first vivid dream, me and my wife were preparing food for Christmas and our residence was different. The fridge was full and Stacey told me not to worry because meat was being kept in a cold storage room outside the house. I went outside to check on the meat and saw houses surmounted with snow. I was worried about foxes contaminating the meat so I voiced my concern to Stacey. She assured me no foxes would come but that’s when we saw one approaching the house. Unexpectedly, two wolves appeared and killed the fox by tearing it apart.
Muzzily, I got up around 7 am to use the toilet and went back to bed. Despite being groggy, I decided to try entering the Phase. Instead, I fell asleep and had the second vivid dream. I was being accompanied by a guru in India (or my idea of India because I have never been there). After showing me around, he took me to a small temple to meditate. We sat on a rug with images of Hindu deities and mandalas on it. During my meditation, the wise guru asked me what I thought being enlightened meant. I gave him my best guess by saying that enlightenment is the realisation of oneness, of being more in touch with the whole, and that one does not need to seek any profound truth in the objective world as everything can be found within us.
He told me to look deep within, and, when I closed my eyes, I felt at peace. Then, he asked me if I could feel the stillness within. The world seemed to stop and I experienced an inward stillness. I felt empty and free. No concepts burdened me for a brief moment before an overwhelming joy filled my heart. The enlightening sensation caused me to levitate. The guru shared my exhilaration as we both had realised what had happened. I had become enlightened in my dream. Exultantly, I stood up to look at myself in one of the temple’s mirrors. My jaw dropped when I saw that my reflection possessed a dozen eyes, and yet, I remained ignorant to being in the dream state.
I was eager to tell people about my experience so I ran out of the temple. Outside, my mobile rang and it was Stacey asking me to meet her at a stadium. I was there instantly, and saw a lot of Indian people playing football in the pitch. There were chairs for spectators and drinks were being sold at a sheltered bar. Stacey showed up and I told her about becoming enlightened but she wasn’t interested. My mobile rang and someone wanted to speak to her. I watched the game while she spoke on the phone.
One of the players invited me to join his team. I also heard someone mention that my stepfather Sergio would be playing but I never saw him. During the game, I kept thinking about my enlightening experience and didn’t even pay attention to where the ball went. I approached the stadium walls which were decorated with mandalas. I noticed a gradual loss of sight and became lucid.
Immediately, I rubbed the pale blue bricks in front of me in order to remain in the Phase. As I touched chairs, tables, and the shelter’s pillars, I witnessed the decorated walls becoming more defined. Time seemed to have stopped when I glanced at the footballers in the pitch. They resembled motionless zombies. As vision blurred again, I felt that an exit from the Phase was imminent if I didn’t perform a technique to maintain the state. I noticed a Phase inhabitant right next to me and grabbed his arm. I rubbed the character’s shirt sleeve and vision was pristine once more.
I glided towards the bar, and, on noticing some bottles, chalices and glasses, decided to smash one of them to see what would happen. I threw a wine glass against a pillar and it shattered. The way in which the shards of glass scattered on the floor seemed odd to me. An Asian-looking lady asked me if everything was okay. I didn’t engage in conversation, opting to feel her hair and body instead. She stood still and did not react to what I was doing. Suddenly, I returned to wakefulness and heard myself snoring loudly. I thought that the alcohol must have caused it.
Then, I remained motionless and recalled the inward stillness I experienced in my dream prior to my lucidity. I started to relive it and felt myself levitating. I exited the body by floating out and assumed a different position in order to prevent being pulled back. I stood on the floor of a hazy version of my room after my successful separation. I rubbed my hands together and blew on them. The Phase gained a little depth, but, objects displayed ghostly contours.
A red dice I picked up from the TV stand, which spun constantly between my thumb and index in a way that would have defied the laws of physics had it been actual, showed no sign of stopping. The spinning was fast but fragmented and unlike the continuous diamond-shaped obscuration observed when a dice is spun in the physical realm. A window ledge and a wall were out of focus as I rubbed them at arm’s length. There was no improvement until I observed the objects at a distance of about six inches while perceiving their solidity with my hands.
Michael Raduga’s tactic worked as the Phase environment surpassed the waking world in quality. In my bed lay two bodies under the covers, and, above them, on the wall, were posters of Walt Disney characters where my art about the Phase should have been. The colours of the posters were vivid and stood out against the cadmium blue wall, particularly the reds and the indigo. The posters resembled the pictures of Disney characters I drew as a child. The closer inspection of one of them revealed Donald Duck and his nephews furiously chasing Uncle Scrooge out of their house. Some objects were being hurled at the old miser, who held on to his hat as he sought refuge. I laughed at the fact that I was looking at cartoons in the Phase.
I walked into the hallway after that, and saw that my reflection was missing in the mirror. I entered the mirror to find myself in a different house where the interior was mostly lime green and exuded surreality. There was a corridor leading to other rooms and daylight oozed from a spatious kitchen. I shouted “helloâ€

Re: Summerlander's Blog
The beginning of the vivid dream with the guru was a little vague, when he was showing around India. Now I wonder if it is because I watched Gandhi. When we got to the temple, it became more vivid, but I was still non-lucid - even when I levitated and saw my reflection with the dozen eyes.
Then , outside, it was a little vague but it became realistic again at the stadium. and it was at the stadium that I entered the Phase.

Re: Summerlander's Blog
Sure!
Discovering the Phase through Robert Monroe helped me to come to terms with a dramatic change in my life style. I was in a very bad place a few years ago. I was taking drugs, drinking and smoking a lot.
The Phase gave me insight when I was having trouble being a parent. My mind already had the answers I was looking for and as strange as it sounds, I gave myself the best advice.
The Phase opened up the doors to many other possibilities. It comforted me when times where hard and provided me with the thrill of adventure. It inspired me to create art again and to become focused. It helped me to put things into perspective and be more accepting when things don't go according to plan in life.
The Phase taught me that all we need is within the mind. The Phase allowed me to see and speak to my deceased stepfather in great realism. It made me livelier, more considerate and understanding of people, more assertive, more confident, and more controlled.
The Phase state also showed me who I am in great clarity, or at least where I'm at in current time. It shows me that I can be so many things and have great potential for whatever I set my mind on. I now know that we are led by our thoughts and emotions but, understanding the process is the great opportunity that the Phase provides.
Once you get a clear picture, you can be the master of your own puppets. You have the power of interpretation. You have the power to be free of your own thoughts' dictation. You can focus on what you want, you can manipulate the direction you take in life and the Phase can certainly help you to make choices.
The Phase can also be like the Construct in The Matrix. It can be used as a training ground for the real world. In there you can practice and develop your confidence in anything. Be it sports, art, music, making love etc. etc.
The Phase is a great source of inspiration and can help you to cope in so many ways. It has also helped me to face my fears. It doesn't protect you. It makes you stand up for yourself. It can be a friend that can be cruel to be kind sometimes. It can present you with realistic nightmares on occasion so that you get over them and become a stronger person. It can give you an update on where you are and what you may need to focus on. It provides angles that your conscious self wouldn't normally consider.
In hindsight, I can see how the Phase has helped me to evolve my own consciousness in the three years that I have experienced it. It's a great source of inspiration, and, for me, it is a less restricted reality. It can be my playground, it can be my world, it can be whatever I want it to be.
In a physical world with so many rules and boundaries, where human beings seldom have any room to do what they really want, and no room to do what is considered to be impossible/unrealistic, one can see why nature has made this elusive state of consciousness accessible to us.

dreamsrock, I am truly flattered.
And I'm gonna flatter you now. Without people like you, the world will be lost. You are a rare kind. People seldom point out each other's strengths these days while far too many let their weaknesses get them down as they constantly think "I can't".
I think the Phase can help us all to evolve and believe in ourselves.

Thanks, I am currently writing a book about the phase. It is a personal account and a journey of discovery. It will mention Michael Raduga and recommend SOBT too.
Btw, I watched this film called Limitless last night. It was great and I think most people in this site would be interested in it.

That movie ROCKED!!
Re: Summerlander's Blog
Way too cool movie..I just finished watching right now!
Hey Summerlander, after you finish this book about you..I think it would have a great impact on the readers..it is something that makes them think a little..about how it would be if...
And after the book will be a success as I am pretty sure..a movie should be done after it!
A cool movie that I saw, inspired by true facts,''Conversations with God'', made after a book with the same title written by Neil Walsh, was about the same principles we try to enhance with the help of the phase! It said that ''You are your god,you can have anything you want''
And in a scene from the movie the main protagonist asks God as he spoke to him''What do you want from me?"And God answers "" YOU DID NOT UNDERSTAND ME,I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU EXCEPT WHAT YOU WANT FROM YOU""
I think is worth watching,It is also the life of the writer of the book,a personal journey..same thing that You Summerlander are working on!
I really can't wait to read your book when it's finished!

One thing I'm sure that it will do...it will give the newbies who are interested in the phase, a good idea of what they can experience. I don't want to give people expectations but they will surely get a good idea of what it can be like. Despite my ideas and theories, I also express very clearly that the reality encountered in such state remains elusive.
Plus, it will also be illustrated with my art about the Phase. Even I will be reading my own book!

I'll make it good! I promise!
