Lucid dreams?

Post by Lux1 »

Hi there, I'm new to the forum. For many years I have had vivid dreams and find that I can enter a lucid dream state almost on will early in the mornings.

However, I would like your thoughts on a recent experience.

I had trouble getting to sleep last night so I read a book for a few hours and went to bed very very late.

My body was so tired but my mind would not relax. I shut my eyes and started thinking random thoughts. My thoughts soon turned into a lucid dream that I was being chased by a gunman. I was terrified. Then it got really weird. I started to feel dizzy or like I was falling backwards in my own head. (Like when you go to bed drunk and the room seems to move). The falling sensation increased. I also suffer from epilepsy and at this point I thought I was about to have a fit (I am on strong meds to control this).

I forced myself awake, I opened my eyes and a white figure hovered near the bed over me. It was not threatening. I then realised my eyes were still shut and woke very quickly. The figure had gone.

It really freaked me out.

On another occasion I slept in the spare room. I woke up and floated around the house then realised it was a dream and properly woke up.

On yet another occasion I had a lucid dream, I stopped a man and said I was in a dream, he didn't deny it but told me to be quiet. Very strange.

Hello Lux1,
Falling sensations can be a common feature of what is called here "the phase". This term includes all of the various conceptions such as 'astral' projection,OBEs,and Lucid Dreams. This is because the mental and physical features of these states overlap with one another. It is suggested here that they are all variations of the same core phenomenon. The meaning and true nature of these experiences are in debate. However,I do recommend that you read the free ebook (or purchase it) available at this site.It can teach you the most efficient ways to leverage the phase phenomenon and prolong it,which can result,IMHO,in the most profound human experiences there can be.

On the rest of the content of your experiences:As you explore these states you will run into mind blowing and strange instances like the man with the gun and various versions of your home. There's no reason to be 'freaked out' because no physical harm can happen to you.As for the meaning of such things:I recommend that you engage the 'dream characters' directly and ask them why they are doing what they do.You will see that the answers can range from shocking -perhaps informing you of something not previously known to you- to total nonsense. It's up to you ultimately to decide what these senarios represent to you.

Oh,and when you think you're awake and then find that you are not, this is known as a 'false awakening' and it is common.

Edit:BTW.On your epilepsy:When you experience 'the phase' you may attempt to positively influence your epilepsy if you wish. Varying levels of self healing and more controversially ,the healing of others, is possible in the phase.
