Before I read the Sobt books I tried to remember my dreams and wrote them down but with indirect techniques, should I still keep this dreamjournal and try to remember my dreams or is this useless when practicing other techniques?

Do it if you like it. It may helps but actually it is not so important. I know many practitioners who can use up to 100% indirect attempts and 50% direct attempts but they do not keep dream journal. May be it is good for first time. It makes your memory better.
